There are various ways for loft boarding to be installed, however the loftzone raised loft boarding is currently the only method that allows you to maximise the potential of your insulation, and save you money whilst still allowing you to transform your loft into an excellent storage space and increase the value of your home.
Read on to find out how to make the most out of your loft with raised loft boarding:
How is Standard Loft Boarding different from Raised Loft Boarding?
Standard loft boarding are floorboards fixed directly to the floor joists which squashes insulation or requires the removal of layers. Squashing your insulation stops it from working! That’s a fact. It reduces its efficiency by up to 50% and this ultimately ends up costing you money because it increases your heat loss.
However, our raised loft boarding is done using the specially designed galvanised steel subframe that is ventilated to allow airflow and that simply raising the Loft floor with timber is insufficient for an insulated loft. By installing raised loft boarding you allow the insulation to breathe and maintain an air flow gap between the boards and insulation. This is achieved by fixing the boards onto a strong sub frame, which is raised above the joists. Over time our raised loft boarding over your insulation will save you money; something that boarding your loft with timber cannot do.
Our raised loft boarding is suitable for ALL property types, including pre-1970 homes, post-1970 homes and new build homes, without voiding your new build warranty.
