Do You Need Your Insulated Loft Boarding? Our Patented Raised Loft Floor System is the ONLY UK Construction industry approved way to board an insulated loft.
What is Loftzone Storefloor Loft Boarding?
Loftzone Storefloor is an award winning, patent pending loft boarding system designed especially for installing loft boarding over insulation, to protect it and enhance the efficiency of your loft insulation opposed to standard boarding which squashes insulation and can even damage your property. LoftZone loft boarding creates a strong safe deck for loft storage or to create a loft access walkway for workman that may need access to your pipework, boiler, solar panel equipment etc.
Is Raised Loft Boarding suitable for my loft?
YES! The Loftzone Storefloor was designed to suit all ages of property whether you live in a new build house or a much older property. As Loftzone specialists we have installed the Loftzone Storefloor in houses that have literally just been built as well as homes that were built over 100 years ago.
What’s the difference between raised and standard loft boarding?
Standard loft boarding is where loft boards are placed directly onto the joists. This is the fastest way to board a loft however isn’t suitable for the majority of lofts, especially if you have insulation, wiring, pipework or downlights installed.
Although some installers and joiners recommend standard boarding, mainly because is it cheaper and easier to install than raised flooring, it can have adverse effects on your property. In our years as approved loft Insulation installers we have had a lot of experience with lofts that have been boarded directly onto the joists and the problems that have arisen as a result especially if the insulation has been squashed into place. This drastically reduces the air flow within the loft space. As a result of this, condensation can build up and cause problems with damp. If your insulation gets damp it will stop working and the weight and water will cause damage to your ceiling beneath. If the wooden joists get damp… well needless to say it may cost thousands to repair the damage that damp can cause.
To avoid these problems we install the Raised Floor Loft Boarding usually in the central area of the loft which allows the air flow from the eaves the continue throughout the loft and under the loft flooring so that problems with damp or condensation do not occur.
Loft Boarding that Protects your Insulation and Energy Savings
Instaloft are one of the few loft boarding companies in the Midlands that place real value on your property and your insulation. We understand loft insulation better than most as we have been involved with it for many years as installers.
Squashing your insulation stops it from working! that’s a fact. It reduces it’s efficiency by up to 50% and this ultimately ends up costing you money because it increases your heat loss and therefore raises your energy bills.
Over time our raised loft boarding over your insulation will save you money. This is something that boarding your loft with timber cannot do
Our Raised Loft Boarding System means that the loft boards are installed ABOVE the level of your loft insulation, protecting not just the insulation but also any pipework and wiring too. In addition you get to maintain the savings made from your loft insulation and keep a warmer home.
Can’t I just put all my stuff on top of my loft insulation?
No! Your loft insulation is an essential part of saving you money on your energy costs. If you squash it down by placing your stuff on top of it you will stop it from working. This means higher energy costs for you and of course… a colder house.
